Hello. I am a drummer, percussionist and composer living and working in Berlin. I play and record solo and in groups, I also enjoy working in interdisciplinary contexts such as performance, dance, visual arts or film. Drawing from a wide array of acoustic instruments next to electronics, I am inspired by respectfully blending the archaic with the modern. Next to working in the field of experimental music, I still love being the drummer in the band.

Bio
Manuel Chittka is a drummer, percussionist and composer working in Berlin. Chittka released his first solo outing in 2021. On „Eigenmoden“ (Stoffe) undercurrents of modular electronics and mostly tuned metal percussion instruments like gongs, cymbals, or metallophones ring and sizzle together and unfold both meditative and noisy. Chittka is a founding member of the group Love-Songs (Bureau B & Kame House) and plays and records drums for jazzy artpop Crooner Jungstötter (PIAS). Chittka collaborates frequently with composer and fellist Andi Otto in various contexts. Manuel Chittka played and recorded with Soap & Skin, Tintin Patrone, Pantha Du Prince, Messer, P.A. Hülsenbeck, Valentina Magaletti, Albertine Sarges, Phantom Horse, FS Blumm, Datashock, Andreas Reihse (Kreidler), among many others. Manuel Chittka enjoys working in interdisciplinary contexts and has already collaborated with, among others, the New York multimedia artist Rashaad Newsome, the intergenerational theater collective SKART/Masters Of The Universe or the Swiss author Sibylle Berg.
Appearances include the CTM Festival Berlin, Philharmonie de Paris, Volksbühne Berlin, Thalia Hall Chicago, Barbican London, Meakusma Festival, Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen, Re:Publica Berlin, Kunsthalle Bern, Pop-Kultur Festival Berlin, Festspiele Mecklenburg Vorpommern, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg or the Kampnagel Summer Festival, among many others.
